FACULTY RECRUITMENT // SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN
The Temerlin Advertising Institute at SMU was hiring for a new Executive-in-Residence position, a job that typically goes to ad industry veterans who are looking for a career change. The following ads were posted on social media with a link to the job description and an invitation to apply.
GRADUATE STUDENT RECRUITMENT CAMPAIGN
Temerlin launched a new grad program that focuses on social responsibility within an industry that wrestles with its own reputation when in comes to ethics. After assessing the first round of applicants it became clear to the faculty that a more targeted message was needed to increase the number of applications coming in from aspiring creative-types that specifically highlighted the award-winning creative program—Method. This campaign addressed the program's unique commitment to social responsibility while underscoring the idea that creative success and ethical integrity aren't mutually exclusive goals. The art direction solution was intentionally muted and minimalistic due to placement in image-heavy magazines and award annuals like Communication Arts and CMYK that feature page after page of full-color ads.

BODY COPY ON ALL ADS:
Now more than ever, advertising must do what’s right. The world is too small, too connected, too informed and too jaded. Consumers (humans, actually) won’t settle for less. The new generation of creative professionals believes it’s okay to succeed, but not at any cost. New leaders recognize their responsibility to their brands, their industry and their society. They want to show the world a different view of what advertising is—and what it can be.
