I've done several projects for Reach—a college ministry at Grace Church that was named for its focus on reaching out to Dallas-area students from a variety of backgrounds. Grace Church is working hard to be/become a racially-diverse congregation in a largely white, affluent suburb of Dallas. I was asked to create various marketing materials that captured the essence of the ministry’s name and to promote a new teaching series. The main piece of the campaign ended up being an illustration I created that could be interpreted in a number of different ways. It depicts the tenuous situation of race relations in America that, at times, seems as if it could go in either direction—toward progress or regression. This illustration was used widely across various media: direct mail, web/social, fliers, business cards, apparel, and presentation slides.
Invitation Cards
The back of these quietly undersized invitation cards were intentionally left mostly blank and free of any overt messaging to ensure that only personal invitations would be given out during one-on-one interactions, rather than distributed en masse like typical fliers, junk mail, and gospel tracts. The blank area leaves room for a personal message and contact info so that a real person is always connected to the card.
